Breakbeat Music Description. Breakbeat is a primarily UK-based style that existed alongside and quickly became infused into hardcore rave/techno music, in turn leading to faster, more complex jungle and hardcore music. Breakbeat is characterized by a prominent, syncopated 4/4 rhythm constructed from breakbeats—i.e., sampled drum breakdowns from rock, jazz, funk, and hip-hop music.

Jan 01,  · "Forget Yourself" from , finds The Church doing what they do best, making fantastic music! This album is 14 tracks of thematic, ethereal, and transcendental music, lead by Steve Kilbey's great vocals and lyrics. Opening with the jamming track "Sealine" and followed by the supersensible "Song in Space", with reverb to good effect/5(11).

The allmusic blurb on the front page of the Amazon listing calls "Forget Yourself" as good as their 80's highpoint. Wrong. VERY wrong. This is a great album and I truly enjoy listening to it, but I can list off plenty of Church discs over the past 20 years that top this one/5(16).

After a long discography, we arrive to "Forget Yourself", a long album full of calm music, with little variation from one song to the next, some of them much calmer than others. The album is really good, if you are a person who like listening to quiet and ambient music such as No Man, Nosound, quiet Porcupine Tree, or even U2; The Church is.
  9. Kishakar says:
After the quite nice and more acoustic album After Everything Now This in this legendary and much underrated australian band is releasing with their 17th album Forget Yourself their best album ever. In contrast to every other band that started in the 80's these guys were not deteriorating on their CDs over the years and decades but instead becoming better and better/5(11).
